Many people disagree with lowering the drinking age and think that it will just cause more problems among young teens. They believe that young teens are immature and are not responsible enough to be drinking on their own. They believe that the people who are 18 will grow up to be alcoholics and abuse the privilege of being able to drink. It is also thought that lowering the drinking age will cause there to be other drug uses. Parents disagree with the lowering of the drinking age because they believe there will be more house parties, binge drinking, alcohol related problems and illnesses, and there will be many more drunk drivers on the road. Since we changed the drinking age to 21 there has been 27000 less deaths. This is a very controversial issue and too many people disagree will lowering the age. They want their kids to remain safe and be more mature when they start to drink.
